As a member of Novation, Purchasing Services can access a wide range of contracting services including: contract development, contract and supplier management, custom contracting, enhanced savings programs, online contract management and analytical tools, order management and online supplier connectivity that can increase the organization's capacity and results without adding resources or cost.

Through its affiliation with VHA and UHC, the Novation collaborative buying organization serves the purchasing needs of nearly 2,500 members and affiliates. Novation serves health care organizations of all sizes, ranging from many of the nation's best-known and most prestigious health care systems to small, rural hospitals throughout the country.

Purchasing Services evaluates each newly announced contract for its competitiveness to existing Penn pricing. Purchasing Services will adopt and implement the new Novation contracts when the supplier pricing and or business terms and conditions are favorable to the University.
