Best Practices

Purchasing Services is partnering with an external supply chain industry partner to pursue procure-to-pay process enhancements and to implement industry acknowledged supply chain best practices.

The Procurement Strategy Council (PSC), an organization that provides best practice research and executive education to senior supply management executives at leading global corporations, is the Supply Management group's supply chain best practices business partner.

Guided continuously by member feedback, the mission of the Procurement Strategy Council is to increase the effectiveness of executives and their enterprises by identifying and communicating the best strategies in the procurement arena. The partnership with the Procurement Strategy Council will help the Supply Management business partners deliver significant benefits to their key stakeholders: senior management, customers, and strategic suppliers. The best way to deliver these benefits is through world class supply and fulfillment performance. The Supply Management group strives to be best-in-class in higher education and competitive with the highest performing supply and fulfillment organizations in private industry. The challenge is determining with a high degree of certainty what steps to take to achieve that performance, where to invest resources, and how to measure results.

Please direct questions regarding the supply chain best practices initiative to Ralph Maier, Chief Procurement Officer.
