To ensure compliance with government contracting requirements, the University of Pennsylvania
adheres to the Small Business Administration
(SBA) diversity and women owned business certification requirements. The SBA requires
contractors receiving federal contracts to report expenditures made with diversity and women
owned businesses that were self certified. The SBA is requiring diversity business spend for
reporting purposes to be certified by the SBA. Since the University is a prime contractor
receiving federal funds, we require that businesses claiming diversity business status be
certified by the SBA. SBA certification related information is listed below.
