Purchasing Services Announces FY2010 Supplier Diversity Program Business Goals

Purchasing Services is pleased to announce the supplier diversity program business
goals for fiscal year 2010. In order to continue our success in this important
procurement business initiative in support of the
President's commitment to
"engage locally," the following formal objectives have been established
for FY2010:
- Total spend with diversity owned suppliers: $80 million
- Total spend with African American owned suppliers: $22 million (a subset of
goal #1)
- New diversity suppliers enabled in the
Penn Marketplace: 4 suppliers
- New diversity supplier contracts that will achieve targeted annul spend
with each supplier: 4 supplier contracts
- New formal quarterly supplier engagement cycle for suppliers participating
in the UPI "Purchasing
Day in the Community" events at the Enterprise Center.
- New quarterly eProcurement training sessions for suppliers participating in
"Purchasing Day in the Community"events at the Enterprise Center.
- Partnership with
PA MBEC and the
Enterprise Center to launch a new buyer/seller diversity supplier database.
In addition to diversity supplier business goals, Purchasing Services also has a
formal goal in support of
local community business
development.
- Total spend with local community businesses: $95 million
