Faculty and Staff Information

Purchasing Services encourages all Penn faculty and staff to support the University's commitment to supplier diversity and economic inclusion by utilizing diversity and local community based suppliers whenever possible. We have established numerous business partnerships and preferred supplier contracts with minority-owned, woman-owned, veteran-owned, and HUBZone-certified businesses for the products and services required by the University. Faculty and staff can enjoy the benefits of these business relationships, which include:

  • Ease of Ordering: Diversity and local community based suppliers recruited for participation in the Penn Marketplace
  • Customer Support: Suppliers that understand the unique business requirements of the University and are committed to meeting the needs of the University buying community
  • Competitive Pricing: Inclusion of diversity and local community suppliers has increased competition among suppliers resulting in lower prices for the University

Faculty and staff looking for diversity suppliers to meet their purchasing or grant requirements are to utilize diversity suppliers in the Penn Marketplace. The BEN Buys diversity supplier list contains the names of all diversity suppliers that are in the BEN Buys Approved Supplier database. Questions regarding source of supply are to be directed to Purchasing Services.

The Office of Research Services is available to assist faculty and staff with their subcontracting plans. Additional information is available at the web sites listed below.
