Improved Lot Numbering System

Corning Life Sciences is pleased to announce that we have changed our lot numbering format , since 1 JAN 1996, to provide you with additional product information. The lot number will now provide you with information about the date of manufacture of the product.

The format for the lot number has changed from 4 to 8 digits. The format can be defined as follows:

  • The first three digits will be the date of manufacture (day of the year numbered sequentially from 1 through 365; i.e. 075 represents the 75th day of the year - March 15).
  • The next two digits represent the year of manufacture (96 for product manufactured in 1996).
  • The last three digits represent the batch number and provide an internal tracking mechanism to allow us to monitor manufacturing information related to that specific lot of product.
  • A lot number of  07596001 would be read in the following manner
    • 075 is the 75th day of the year -March 15
    • 96 is the year - 1996
    • 001 is the batch number

The lot number is clearly identified on all products or product packaging.

We hope that you find this additional information helpful. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact your nearest sales office.
