Fleet Management Commodity Project Update: May 2008

Wednesday, May 14, 2008

The Fleet Management Services Commodity Project team has formalized the University's business requirements for fleet related purchases, repairs, preventative maintenance, alternate fuel vehicle opportunities, surplus vehicle disposal process, and enhanced vehicle registration and issued a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) in late April. Formal responses to the RFP are due on or before May 29, 2008. Supplier proposals will be reviewed by the project team and a formal fleet management services contract will be awarded early in FY2009.

A new Fleet Fuel Card Program contract has been awarded to Wright Express. Purchasing Services and Travel & Card Services are working to develop a formal fleet fuel card roll out project plan. This new contract will provide Schools and Centers with a discount of 30 to 32% per gallon of gas or diesel fuel along with increased transaction detail. The formal contract award notice will be issued in late May 2008. Once this contract is implemented, the MasterCard Fleet Fuel Card Program provided as part of the JPMorgan Chase Purchasing Card Program will be terminated.
