University Stationery Commodity Project

Purchasing Services and Publication Services have launched a new commodity project to enhance the process of purchasing University stationery. An overview of the project plan is listed below.

Project Overview

Business Objective: Facilitate a formal stationery commodity reengineering project to maximize the campus-wide stationery commodity business opportunity, provide a more streamline ordering process through the Penn Marketplace, improve product quality and delivery, lower cost for products, and increase customer satisfaction
Project Owners: Aiasha Graham & Ralph Maier
Project Team: Dave Staskin, Vira Homick, Anne Rose, Denise McShea, and Donald Sokalczuk
Launch Date: July 18, 2006
Completion Date: Announce a new program on or before September 30 in time for the Purchasing Services Supplier Show to be held in early October.
Deliverables: - New commodity marketing materials and customer support services
- Online ordering through the Penn Marketplace
- Sole source contract supplier
- Lower costs for products and shorter delivery time
- New commodity and supplier performance metrics
- Commodity ROI document at completion of project
