Writing Instrument Recycling Program

Penn Now Recycles Pens! Purchasing Services is partnering with Sanford, Office Depot, and TerraCycle to collect and recyclepens, pencils, markers, highlighters, correction tape dispensers, etc. TerraCycle will “up-cycle” the writing instruments into fun and innovative new products.

All brands of pens and markers are acceptable. For every writing instrument that Penn recycles, the University will receive two cents ($0.02) which will be designated to the new Green Fund. What a great incentive for everyone to clean out all the old pens from your kitchen drawer at home and bring them in to recycle them!

You can send your pens and markers to Purchasing Services through intramural mail or drop them off at our reception desk.
