A University Strategic Alliance Partner for Computer Products
Lenovo, an international technology company
formed as a result of the acquisition by the Lenovo Group of the IBM Personal Computing Division,
is the University's sole source strategic contract supplier of ThinkPad notebook and ThinkCentre
desktop computers and a Penn Marketplace participating supplier.
As a global leader in the PC market, Lenovo develops, manufactures and markets cutting-edge,
reliable, high-quality PC products and value-added professional services that provide customers
around the world with smarter ways to be productive and competitive.
About the Contract
The Lenovo strategic supplier contract, effective June 9, 2005, is the result of a formally
negotiated partnership between the University and Lenovo. The negotiated contract pricing available
to faculty and staff has been benchmarked as best-in-class pricing in higher education. The
University will realize significant product cost savings resulting from ThinkPad and ThinkCentre
purchases from Lenovo.
