Penn Marketplace Suppliers
Purchasing Services has recruited preferred contract and emerging preferred
suppliers (see Supplier Definitions) for
inclusion in the Penn Marketplace.
Penn faculty and staff are required to utilize Penn Marketplace suppliers in
accordance with
"Financial
Policy #2308 - Competitive Bidding". To further streamline the ordering
process for BEN Buys users,
the competitive bidding requirement has been waived for purchases from
Penn Marketplace participating suppliers regardless of the total aggregate cost
of the purchase order.

User Guides to assist BEN Buys
requisitioners with navigating the various supplier punch-out ordering sites.

Supplier Products Available through Strategic Third Party Relationships
As a result of strategic sourcing business decisions, or supplier mergers and
acquisitions, product content from former BEN Buys approved suppliers is merged
into the online product catalog from designated marketplace participating
suppliers.
Restricted Suppliers
Restricted suppliers are
suppliers that will not support the University's strategic purchasing initiatives
and decline an offer to participate in the Penn Marketplace. All purchases from
Restricted Suppliers must be processed via the BEN Buys Purchasing System.
Purchasing Card cardholders are not permitted to use their
purchasing card for purchases from Restricted Suppliers. These suppliers are
not permitted to participate in any University sponsored on-campus supplier show
or exhibit.
